Ask the manufacturer to check the VIN, original in-service date, odometer reading and diagnosed battery condition. A defect warranty and a capacity-retention promise cover different questions. The examples below do not establish terms for every brand or older model year. Check open recalls by VIN too.

California BAR describes a 10-year/150,000-mile traction-battery term for qualifying PZEV/TZEV-certified vehicles. This is not a rule for every hybrid: check the vehicle's certification, registration and warranty booklet. California BAR guidance.

The federal battery provision in 40 CFR 85.2103(d)(1)(v) concerns EVs and plug-in hybrids, not conventional hybrids. Its 8-year/80,000-mile requirement starts with model year 2027 for light-duty vehicles at or below 6,000 pounds GVWR. Heavier vehicles phase in with Tier 4 certification, no later than model year 2031. Earlier compliance is optional. Do not apply that provision to every battery or model year. Current federal rule.

Do not assume a service contract covers the battery

The Omega Powertrain public sample excludes batteries in its hybrid coverage section. The January 2025 Express Enhanced Powertrain sample excludes the hybrid battery. Those exclusions do not establish any EV-battery offer. We have not verified an affiliate service-contract offer that covers the repair on this page.

All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning June 23, 2026. Owners may contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US LLC's number for this recall is 52D. The Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on June 11, 2026.

Manufacturer check or remedy: This recall is replaced by NHTSA recall number 25V741. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery pack software and replace the battery pack assembly, if necessary, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed October 11, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 95B. Vehicles in this recall that were previously recalled for the same issue under NHTSA Recall 23V-787 will need to have the new remedy performed.
