Model-year records

What the 2021 record can and cannot say

The 2021 record contains 11 submitted complaints, about 11 reports below the median complaint count in these records. Report volume is not a failure probability because vehicle age and sales exposure differ.

Electrical System leads the displayed component tags with 5 reports, accounting for 45.5% of this year's submitted complaints. Use that signal to inspect coverage wording, not to predict the next repair.

Engine replacement or major internal repair has a midpoint parts estimate of $7,000, before local labor. A service contract can help pay that cost only if both the part and the cause of failure qualify.

Electrical or software fault may disable vehicle functions

The DC-DC converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip.

NHTSA campaign 26V248000 includes certain 2019 to 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery, 2020-2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover, 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace, and 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace mild-hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs). The DC-DC converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Symptoms to compare
  • Warning messages, a blank display, a no-start condition or loss of a vehicle function may occur
  • An open campaign appears when the complete VIN is checked
  • Some recalled vehicles may show no advance warning before the component fails

Other ways owners describe it: dashboard lit up with warnings; car electronics stopped working; screen keeps rebooting; car will not start after update; electrical problem with no warning; software recall.

Which vehicles the source covers
  • 2019 to 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport
  • NHTSA campaign 26V248000
  • The manufacturer filing lists 170,169 potentially affected units across the complete campaign.
  • VIN eligibility determines whether this recall applies to an individual vehicle

Safety recall eligibility is based on the VIN and campaign scope, not ordinary warranty mileage. Check the complete VIN even when the vehicle is outside its original warranty.

Confirm who pays before authorizing work

A recall remedy follows the campaign and VIN eligibility. A service bulletin provides diagnosis or repair instructions; it does not by itself promise payment. Manufacturer warranty extensions and support programs have their own conditions.

These files do not supply a shop quote. Ask for a diagnosis and written estimate, then check recall remedies or existing coverage. A new vehicle service contract generally excludes pre-existing conditions.
