Model-year records

What the 2022 record can and cannot say

The 2022 record contains 220 submitted complaints, about 113 reports above the median complaint count in these records. Report volume is not a failure probability because vehicle age and sales exposure differ.

Electrical System leads the displayed component tags with 92 reports, accounting for 41.8% of this year's submitted complaints. Use that signal to inspect coverage wording, not to predict the next repair.

Engine replacement or major internal repair has a midpoint parts estimate of $7,000, before local labor. A service contract can help pay that cost only if both the part and the cause of failure qualify.

Rearview camera image may not display

The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying.

NHTSA campaign 24V436000 includes certain 2022 to 2023 Jeep Compass vehicles. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Dodge Durango, 2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Chrysler Voyager, 2022-2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram Promaster vehicles. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Symptoms to compare
  • The rearview image may be blank, delayed, distorted or unavailable in reverse
  • An open campaign appears when the complete VIN is checked
  • Some recalled vehicles may show no advance warning before the component fails

Other ways owners describe it: backup camera is black; reverse camera not working; camera screen stays blank; rear camera flickers; no picture when reversing; backup screen freezes.

Which vehicles the source covers
  • 2022 to 2023 Jeep Compass
  • NHTSA campaign 24V436000
  • The manufacturer filing lists 1,033,433 potentially affected units across the complete campaign.

Confirm who pays before authorizing work

A recall remedy follows the campaign and VIN eligibility. A service bulletin provides diagnosis or repair instructions; it does not by itself promise payment. Manufacturer warranty extensions and support programs have their own conditions.

Keep a current problem separate from future coverage

These files do not supply a shop quote. Ask for a diagnosis and written estimate, then check recall remedies or existing coverage. A new vehicle service contract generally excludes pre-existing conditions.
