Model-year records

What the 2015 record can and cannot say

Compared with other Cadillac Escalade years here, the 2015 total is about 26 reports above the median complaint count in these records. Its raw count is 103, with no denominator for vehicles sold.

Engine is the most common displayed tag, with 27 reports. Its 26.2% share describes submitted complaints, not all vehicles on the road.

Engine replacement or major internal repair has the highest midpoint estimate for parts alone, at $7,000. Local labor adds to the bill, while claim rules can limit what the plan pays.

Braking performance may be reduced

The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.

NHTSA campaign 19V645000 includes certain 2015 to 2017 Cadillac Escalade vehicles. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time. As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Symptoms to compare
  • The driver may notice a warning, changed pedal feel or reduced braking, depending on the recalled component
  • An open campaign appears when the complete VIN is checked
  • Some recalled vehicles may show no advance warning before the component fails

Other ways owners describe it: brake pedal feels soft; car takes longer to stop; brake warning light; brakes suddenly weak; brake fluid leaking; parking brake not working.

Which vehicles the source covers
  • 2015 to 2017 Cadillac Escalade
  • NHTSA campaign 19V645000
  • The manufacturer filing lists 3,456,719 potentially affected units across the complete campaign.
  • VIN eligibility determines whether this recall applies to an individual vehicle

Safety recall eligibility is based on the VIN and campaign scope, not ordinary warranty mileage. Check the complete VIN even when the vehicle is outside its original warranty.

Enter the 17-character VIN in NHTSA's recall lookup and ask the manufacturer or an authorised dealer to confirm whether the campaign is open for this vehicle.

Evidence for this issue

Confirm who pays before authorizing work

A recall remedy follows the campaign and VIN eligibility. A service bulletin provides diagnosis or repair instructions; it does not by itself promise payment. Manufacturer warranty extensions and support programs have their own conditions.

Keep a current problem separate from future coverage

These files do not supply a shop quote. Ask for a diagnosis and written estimate, then check recall remedies or existing coverage. A new vehicle service contract generally excludes pre-existing conditions.
