Express Service Protection Review: Price, Coverage and Claims

Express publishes sample contracts for several coverage tiers, including Enhanced Powertrain. Use those documents to check covered parts and claim requirements, then compare a quote for the same vehicle and term. Its selected-state monthly examples do not establish that it is cheaper than another eligible plan.

Marketplace profile checked October 18, 2026. Chaiz labels these as average monthly costs from selected states, not guaranteed quotes or total contract prices. Its profile says monthly payment options apply only to three-year payment terms. Chaiz's general FAQ currently says marketplace plans do not exceed three years, so the live quote and form must resolve that conflict.

How coverage and claims work

Who handles claims and is responsible for payment
The 2025 Premium sample names Express Service Protection as administrator. The obligor varies by state, primarily Plateau Service Company, with Plateau Warranty Company in Florida, and the form names Plateau Casualty Insurance Company as the backing insurer.
Which sample contract we could check
Express publishes 2025 sample forms for several tiers. Page 3 of its Enhanced Powertrain sample lists radiator and fuel-injector coverage in the cooling and fuel sections, rechecked September 16, 2026. Similar tier names at other providers can have different parts lists. The selected form, declarations page and state amendment still control the customer's coverage.
Vehicle eligibility
Express's published entry limits are Premium: 13 years/125,000 miles; Exclusionary: 10 years/60,000; Exclusionary Deluxe: 13 years/100,000; Stated Component: 11 years/100,000; Enhanced Powertrain: 20 years/150,000. Premium narrows to Enhanced Powertrain at 150,000 odometer miles, and Deluxe at 130,000. Optional surcharges include maintenance, rideshare/commercial use, emissions, luxury electronics, and seals and gaskets.
Claim process
The Premium sample requires a licensed facility and prior authorization. The buyer may have to pay for unauthorized work or teardown. An unpaid contract balance may also be deducted from a claim. Express says approved repairs are paid by card or check, while rental reimbursement can require the customer to pay first.
Waiting period
Each of the five linked 2025 samples requires one month and 1,000 miles. Only emergency roadside benefits apply during the wait. These clauses were checked separately on each form's first page on October 18, 2026.
Cancellation and transfer
The Premium and Enhanced Powertrain samples permit written cancellation. A full refund in the first 30 days requires no claim. Later refunds use the insurer's premium-earning method, less paid claims and a $75 fee, subject to state and financing provisions; do not assume a straight-line refund. Chaiz’s profile checked October 18, 2026 lists a $50 transfer fee. Confirm the timing and state rule in the selected form.

What to check before you buy

  • Match the exact age, odometer and additional-mile limits to the quoted tier; those are three different measurements.
  • Nissan owners should verify the CVT exclusion Chaiz flags against the exact model and current contract.
  • Confirm teardown costs, unpaid-balance deductions, parts rules and whether rental or roadside benefits require reimbursement.
