CarShield Review: Published Coverage and Contract Checks

CarShield's lineup separates Diamond, Platinum, Gold Select and Silver from its Aluminum electronics plan and electric-vehicle coverage. Its site identifies American Auto Shield as the contract administrator.

This review is based on published documents, not a firsthand claim. We checked the official product information linked below; we have not completed a clause-by-clause review of an offered consumer agreement. Inclusion does not establish a commercial relationship or availability through Chaiz. The agreement and state rules determine whether the product is a service contract or insurance and what it covers.

What to distinguish in CarShield's offer

Aluminum focuses on electrical and computer components. It should not be read as a substitute for an engine-and-transmission plan. Compare the actual schedule for the repair you want covered.

Where to buy and California availability

CarShield publishes a direct quote form. This page links to its official information, not a Chaiz offer for CarShield.

CarShield states it does not offer coverage in California, but may refer a licensed mechanical breakdown insurer. A referral is a separate product and sales route.

Public sample forms and review limits

No complete consumer agreement was reviewed for this overview. The sources below establish the published product information only; they do not settle the obligor, exclusions, refund or payment terms of your offer.

Licensing and enforcement: evidence and limits

The FTC records that CarShield and American Auto Shield agreed to pay $10 million in July 2024 to settle charges about deceptive advertising and telemarketing. The agency announced consumer refunds in December 2025. This case does not establish a current claim-approval rate. CarShield enforcement case and settlement record.

This review has not independently verified current registration numbers, expiry dates or a complete enforcement record. We do not treat a marketplace badge or the absence of a reported case here as a clean regulatory record. Check the legal entity named in your agreement with your state regulator; a registration is not an endorsement of the plan.
