Buying a vehicle service contract in Utah

Utah's Insurance Department licenses and regulates vehicle service-contract providers as non-insurance providers. The provider application page distinguishes these companies from insurers and from other regulated product types.

The department requires vehicle service-contract forms to be filed at least 30 days before use. Ask for the provider's legal name and the applicable Utah form before comparing coverage. A provider's license does not establish that a particular failure or vehicle configuration is covered.
