Buying a vehicle service contract in Virginia

Virginia's Office of Charitable and Regulatory Programs administers the Extended Service Contract Act. Its consumer guidance recommends verifying the business's registration before entering a contract.

The office publishes a list of registered providers, consumer notes and a complaint form on its extended-contract page. Match the legal provider in your agreement to that list; the dealer or marketing name may be different. Registration does not determine whether an individual repair meets the coverage terms.
