Buying a vehicle service contract in Nevada

Nevada requires a service-contract provider to obtain a registration certificate before issuing, selling or offering contracts. The provider is the business obligated to perform under the agreement; check that legal entity rather than relying only on the seller's name.

The Division of Insurance says service-contract forms must be filed and approved before use. Ask for the Nevada form and its exclusions, claim procedure and cancellation terms. Provider registration and form approval do not establish that a particular repair is covered.
