State contract rules

Buying a vehicle service contract in Mississippi

Mississippi's vehicle service-contract regulation exempts providers and sellers from Title 83 licensing or registration requirements except for the applicable filing requirements. Do not describe that exemption as an absence of rules for the contract.

The regulation describes an early return period of 20 days from mailing or 10 days after delivery at sale, or a longer contractual period. The no-claim condition matters for a full refund. Keep proof of delivery and cancellation and contact the Insurance Department about the applicable form.

Check with Mississippi Insurance Department.
