Motorcycle coverage

Is there an extended warranty for your motorcycle?

The short answer

Motorcycle repair protection is available. Start with the program for your bike's manufacturer, check the enrollment deadline and repair network, then compare the full term price. We have not verified motorcycle quotes through Chaiz.

A motorcycle plan is not a car service contract with a different vehicle name. Manufacturers set their own eligibility, covered failures, deductible and workshop rules. The best starting point depends on the bike you actually own.

Worth considering if…

Riders keeping an eligible bike beyond its current coverage who are comfortable using the program's authorized repair network.

Look elsewhere if…

Anyone mainly seeking routine servicing, consumables, collision insurance or protection for competition use without checking the exclusions.

HondaCare: public pricing makes comparison easier

HondaCare's page for motorcycles with a one-year factory warranty lists prices from $320 to $1,100 across engine sizes, terms and roadside options. One example is $600 for 36 months on a 501–800cc motorcycle, or $690 with roadside assistance. The $600 figure is equivalent to $200 per added year, not a monthly-payment offer.

Honda describes no deductible or preset mileage limit for covered repairs at authorized Honda Powersports dealers. Enrollment for a new bike requires its original warranty to remain active. Restrictions apply, including exclusions for tires, batteries, audio equipment, accessories and competition models. Confirm the bike and quoted agreement rather than applying the table to every Honda.

HondaCare covers mechanical failures caused by defects in materials or factory workmanship. It should not be read as covering every wear-related repair.

Kawasaki Protection Plus: price it using the actual bike

Kawasaki describes extensions of 12, 24, 36, 48 or 60 months beyond the limited warranty, depending on the model. Covered repairs have no deductible and use authorized Kawasaki dealers in the United States. The program also describes transfer without an additional fee.

Its quote tool says price varies by the VIN or HIN. That is a reason to use the actual vehicle details, not an unrelated price posted online. Ask which terms remain available for the bike and whether renewal is possible before the current protection ends.

Harley-Davidson: establish the start date and deductible

Harley-Davidson advertises an Extended Service Plan offering protection up to seven years with unlimited miles, subject to the contract. Its public page states a $50 deductible per covered claim and describes repairs through Harley-Davidson dealerships.

The advertised period is not automatically seven extra years from today. Confirm the start date and remaining protection on the actual offer. Tire-and-wheel protection is an optional extra, so do not read the main program as covering ordinary tire replacement. Ask the dealer for the complete written price.

The questions that change the decision

Ask about modifications, track use, maintenance records, diagnosis, repair authorization and cancellation. A bike used very differently from the program's normal road-use assumptions needs an explicit eligibility answer. Also check whether your preferred workshop can carry out an approved repair.

Compare the useful coverage period with how long you expect to keep the bike. If selling soon is possible, read the transfer process and refund rules. A lower premium is not necessarily the better offer if the deductible, network or exclusions leave you carrying the repair risk that matters most.

Ask for a category-specific quote and contract.

Confirm eligibility, the total premium, service fee and payout limits. A car warranty quote will not answer those questions for this product.
