What the Hyundai records can tell us
Our Hyundai records cover Elantra, Ioniq 5, Kona, Palisade, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tucson, Ioniq 6, Ioniq 9, Nexo, Venue, with 93 model years in total. Owners filed 21,421 complaints for those entries. Without knowing how many vehicles were on the road, we cannot calculate a complaint rate.
Among the component tags, Engine leads with 7,733 submitted reports. Because a complaint may carry several tags, the count is better used to inspect coverage than rank reliability.
The file also contains 297 recall campaigns. Its 7,721 manufacturer communications cover a wider field than defects, so neither total should be added to expected warranty claims.
